Our Staff

Dawn Giovannucci
Certified Groomer/Professional Pet Care Specialist
Owner

Dawn has extensive animal care knowledge. Her love of animals has driven Dawn to attend many classes and seminars to further her career as a Professional Pet Stylist. Dawn's passion for this line of work has most recently landed her a job as the Grooming Manager at a nearby salon for the last 5 years. Before that she owned her own salon in Belmont, The Pampered Pooch for 10 years. Dawn hated leaving her dog Foxie home all day while she went off to a job she didn't enjoy much less have any passion for, so off to grooming school she went! Where she graduated TOP in her class! Dawn was also on the BOARD OF DIRECTORS as the Fundraising Director for a volunteer based all-breed rescue group called Save A Dog. Dawn volunteered for years and still helps when needed and asks that if you are looking for a new pet to add to your family please consider adopting a homeless animal. Visit a shelter or rescue!

Dawn holds a certificate in grooming from the prestigious Pedigree Career Institute where she graduated top in her class and won several awards.

Dawn also holds a certificate from Teleosis School of Homeopathy and is also certified by the American Red Cross in Pet First Aid.

Dawn is also certified in Reiki I & II from Reiki Master Libby Barnett of Reiki Healing Connection

Dawn is a member of New England Pet Grooming Professionals (NEPGP), National Dog Groomer's Association (NDGA), North American Dog Daycare Association (NADDA), and various other dog grooming, dog day care, health and nutrition groups.

Dawn and her husband Mike reside in Framingham with Merlin & Sabrina, their 2 Bichon Frise, Mickey, their cattle dog mix, and Molly and Cotton their 2 Maltese they adopted from a client!

Beth Day Malo
Professional Groomer/Reception

Beth joined us in 2009, and before coming to A Diamond in the Ruff Beth managed a horse farm in Sterling for 6 years. She has extensive pet care knowledge and her love of animals brought her to us and we are thrilled to have her! The love and care she puts into the work she does and the dogs she cares for shows in everything that she does! Beth also helps out in the doggie day care rooms when needed and you often just find her hanging out with the dogs! She loves them all and they all flock to her! Beth is a huge animal lover and lives with 2 horses, 2 mini horses, 2 dogs, 3 cats and bunnies. Beth, her husband Dave, and their children all share their home with these wonderful pets in Sterling.

Beth and her family are helping her husband Dave fight Kidney Cancer and you can find out more about their fight on this website:

Avery Kogut
Mobile Pet Stylist

Avery joined us in 2008 while attending Becker College as our Bather/grooming assistant. Avery immediately knew this was her calling, and she quickly worked her way up learning as much as possible to become a Professional Pet Stylist. Avery left us briefly to finish up her schooling at Johnson and Wales University, but we are pleased to say she is now our Mobile Pet Stylist! Avery loves every dog she puts on her table and enjoys coming to you! So if you have a busy, hectic schedule as most of us do these days, give us a call and schedule a mobile grooming with Avery! Avery shares her home with her favorite "guy" Primo her American Pit Bull Terrier!

Rebecca Gibbons
Doggie Day Care Handler

Rebecca joined us in 2010 when she moved to Massachusetts from New Hampshire. Rebecca's previous jobs were in customer service, but her dog handling experience comes from the North Conway Animal Shelter in New Hampshire where she volunteered and devoted a lot of her free time. Rebecca keeps the dogs on their schedule and provides a safe, structured, and fun play room. You will usually find Rebecca in the day care rooms getting kisses from all the dogs! She has such a way with them, and they ALL love her! Rebecca also has training as a Make Up Artist and shared her home with Springer Spaniels her whole life.

Suzanne Sleczkowski
Grooming Assistant and Doggie Day Care Handler

Suzy came to us with some bathing and grooming experience from another grooming facility and absolutely loves all the dogs! Suzy does some bathing in grooming in the mornings and then she switches hats and moves over to the doggie day care! Suzy has such a way with all of the dogs and makes a point to really get to know them! Suzy is owned by her Lab Molly who attends day care regularly in our big dog room!

Christine Haslam
Doggie Day Care Handler

Christine has trained under a behavior specialist and worked at another facility as a kennel attendant. She has also volunteered for Furever Dauchshund Rescue, RI and All Dog Rescue, Natick, Ma. Christine hopes to help both the dog and owner live a happier life together. Christine, along with Rebecca and Suzy use their intuition to provide a safe, structured and loving doggie play group environment in our play rooms.
